Sun signs explained
When asked what 'sign' we belong to, most of us are able to give an answer. We are able to respond by saying 'I'm a Leo' or 'I'm a Sagittarian' because we probably read our horoscopes in a daily newspaper or magazine and remembered the sign associated with our birthdate.
It is a given nowadays that when we are asked what sign we are, we are being asked what Sun sign we belong to. So let's look at exactly what a Sun sign is, and clear up any confusion for those of you who are not certain what your Sun sign is.
Horoscopes that appear within the plethora of printed and online media have a lot to answer for. This is because the dates associated with each sign are approximate. Frustratingly, they can change from one publication to another, leaving anyone who was born at the very end of one sign and the beginning of another confused as to what their Sun sign really is. If you are someone who has experienced this and want to know, once and for all, what your Sun sign is, then get your free chart analysis and it will give you the exact sign the Sun was in when you were born.
And to make things even more confusing, there are the typical Sun sign stereotypes we are all familiar with: 'Capricorns are boring so-and-so's who need to learn to have fun' and 'all Scorpios are sex mad' to name just two examples. This is what is known as 'false astrology' which suits those who are keen to condemn astrology as being a complete load of hogwash. I have often thought that this type of astrology should carry a 'government health warning' because a forecast that applies to one twelfth of the world's population will, by the law of averages, by right for some but completely irrelevant to the rest.
So what IS a sun sign?
In short, your Sun sign represents your spirit, heart and all that is important to you. Your Sun sign portrays the nature of your will and purpose in life. It is the very centre of your being and all other planetary influences are arranged around it.
born on the 'cusp'?
I mentioned above the frustrations some people experience having been born on the edge of two signs and it is only through incorrect information that appears within some daily horoscopes regarding the start and finish dates for some signs that the confusion even exists. It is common for someone born in between two signs to be referred to as 'cusp born' or 'born on the cusp'. The truth is, there is no such thing. Whilst it is true that zodiac signs don't automatically change at the first stroke of midnight on a particular date, the fact remains that everyone in world can only belong to one Sun sign - provided they were only born once! Your time of birth is essential in terms of confirming which sign you belong to, but at any given moment the planets are in a certain position and this positioning determines which planetary signs we belong to. It really is as simple as that so don't let someone try to convince you otherwise!
